I have started using my twitch channel more on the path to affiliate and doing dedicated streams over there where I can interact with my audience, and while I have been growing it by uploading the prerecorded video’s and doing reruns at present I will be moving to actual livestreams over on the channel.
Twitch decided to remove the ability to run premieres of video’s and reruns for those under affiliate level at the same time that youtube seems to be testing out premieres on it’s on site, bring both sites ever closer to being competitors with twitch now including uploaded video’s but specialising in livestreams and youtube being the opposite slowly but surely both sites are coming closer to offering the full range of services in an effective manner.
Through video premieres alone my channel has been growing, and since they announced they were removing these features I decided to do a test in one of those if you remove my toy’s I will play with them sorts of thing and ran three separate 24 hour livestreams encouraging followers and showing off the sort of content I produce over the channel with variety gaming streaming and IRL content. Each of these averaged around 5 new followers and if I had been left to be able to run long reruns on the channel I could have affiliate level followers in no time, however since this is now not the case I have to look elsewhere to grow my followship on twitch.
Whilst the suggestion that premieres would be removed seemed to suggest that video uploads would also be removed entirely that is not the case, and these seem to still premiere on the channel regardless so perhaps they turned around their idea on this matter rather than remove any ability to produce content other than livestreams, or this may be being phased out slower who is to say.
In the effort of growing my channel to a size that I can start earning money off of it and be worthy of running actual livestreams with chat open and interactivity I have decided to run a giveaway on the site, and where previous pretenders have put me off running any competitions because of their illicit activities I have found a way to run an actual legitimate competition through gleam. Gleam offer a good service that validates entries and also draws the winner at random without any suggestion of rigging or preference, and with the ability to embed it right here on the site you know it’s legitimate and not being run by a scammer pretending to be affiliated with the site and trying to steal keys from developers by pretending to be associated with the site.
I am giving away some old spare steam keys I have leftover from duplicates of games I already owned from humble bundle purchases I have made in the past, this is my first time running gleam so I’m unsure if I can simply redraw winners until I’ve exhausted all of the spare keys I have or if I have to set them exactly before hand, but there will be multiple winners and the key could be random from any of the duplicates I have. Once you have received your key there will be no replacements but you’re free to give away your key to anyone you like if you already own the game, if not I hope you enjoy your prize.
There are a variety of ways to enter the competition below, obviously the primary reason for this is for the path to affiliate on twitch to encourage new followers to the channel and streams which is why this offers the most points, and there are some other options such as subscribing on youtube and to bloglovin, as well as following the steam curator page. I can see in the gleam app if these are invalid and invalid entries will be removed so be sure to actually follow any of the channels or services where stated and remain following or subscribed by the end of the competition for your entry to remain valid. Those of you who follow my twitter will see I like and retweet any twitter entries where I get notifications in my feed, and I appreciate the new followers over there too.
There are some really good games in the mix, obviously good enough that I already owned them and you’ve got a fairly good chance of winning right now so get your entry in and follow along, obviously now the follower count is getting up there I will start arranging a schedule for streams and be sure to be live on those streams regularly the first of which I can guarantee is to be live for hearthstone tavern brawls every Wednesday at 9pm GMT perhaps with bonus content that wouldn’t be on a regular shorter youtube video and longer extended gameplay over there, and I will make a schedule for other games I will be doing over on the channel too like interactive dead cells with captain chicken and other twitch based games like choice chamber, so be sure to follow and tune in if you want to be involved in these interactive games.
Good luck and thankyou for entering
