Some games I wanted to play but didn’t do a full series on, more and more games will be added to this playlist with one off gameplay video’s so if you want to check out the links to the games you’ll have to go to the individual video for that game, however this playlist will show off many games which perhaps have more simplistic gameplay that wouldn’t need showing in a full review, or just some games I have got in bundles in the past or just something I want to show off a little without playing a full series on the game.

Woven is a story driven point and click adventure game around a metalic flying creature which finds itself thrown into a woolen world where there is an immediate bond of friendship with stuffy, a toy elephant of sorts and the two of you set out exploring the world and meeting new creatures and finding new colour patterns along the way.

Narrated much in the style of dr seuss the quest is narrated along the way, with rhymes of the chronicles unfold while you play. Yes that was intentional, so you can see what I mean with the rhyming and it is definitely intended for a younger audience and it is nice to see a friendly colourful world to explore and a good setting for a game for children as most of the games you see released these days tend to be much more adult and action packed where this is definitely an adventure for the younger audience, and a good way to play and learn with each animal part having it’s own skillset to solve mild puzzles in order to progress and based on a disneyesque theme with mild danger and dark elements not too scary for a younger player but enough to add a motion of tension and excitement to exploring the colourful world.

The game is still in kickstarter phase and as a result not fully developed, but essentially as it stands the story revolves around discovering why the metal creatures are invading the woolen lands and what this might ultimately hold for our two characters each with their own skill sets and learnable abilities.

There is a demo available on the kickstarter page and there isn’t long left, I was hoping to have my better pc in time to get better footage but there were problems and that had to be sent back, but check out the page there for updates and more information about the goals and what you can get for your funding of the project.

I think it’s nice to see something aimed at the younger market in modern times and would be an ideal game for a younger child as a first game perhaps, learning about animals as well as being entertaining but hopefully not too scary, saying that disney/pixar movies themselves these days have scarier concepts at times so this should be no more of a worry than any of those.

The classic binding of isaac has had some free dlc added since the launch of rebirth that most of you may not be aware of, adding “eternal” bosses and enemies which add an ultra hardcore mode truly pushing the limits over what is possible within the java engine version of the game, you think you’ve beaten the classic? Not until you’ve mastered the eternal edition and beaten all of the eternal bosses and things truly have gone to hell.

Although eternal enemies have a white aura to them they are far from angellic, instead being the hardest version they could possibly be, double the health, faster, stronger and with more tears you will need the extra eternal hearts they drop as getting to the end alive is going to be a true challenge in itself and passing any floor undamaged on eternal mode must surely be deserving of a medal.

If you haven’t encountered the binding of isaac at this point essentially the game is a top down twin stick shooter, but with a twist where the theme of the game is a very twisted and morbid story about a child and his fears coming to life through the most horrific twisted enemies. Each room locks you in with randomly generated floors and enemies based upon the progress you have made so far, and with upgrades that blend together to make further twisted abominations of your own body and weaponry every run is truly unique and you can sink thousands of hours into the game easily without getting bored trying to get every unlock and finish the game with every character.

Floors are generated from two versions with procedurally generated layouts so although you can expect the majority of enemies to be familiar to that floor the layout and items within will never be the same, and occasionally you will be faced with rare enemies which do not belong there! Within every floor there is a golden room requiring a key which contains a free random upgrade/item to use and a shop which you can purchase something to help you on your quest to victory, sometimes there are libraries and curse rooms and even arcades which can help you on your way, or waste your time, money and health and it is that mechanic along with whether you are overpowered for a floor and want to explore everything for maximum benefits or rush to the next floor after defeating the boss which keep things interesting between runs.

Other secrets are included in the game such as devil and angel rooms as well as truly secret rooms which I will not spoil in this mini review, but I do find in my gameplay video’s. These add strategy to the use of your items and health as well as the way you play a game to try to turn a losing run into one that you could possibly win.

Check out the eternal edition of binding of isaac as this is different in some ways to the current afterbirth game, although with the binding of isaac afterbirth++ you could incorporate many of these features and even create a truly twisted version of the game as everything is modifiable within that game and you can even create your own enemies, bosses and items so definitely check that out as well.

Zombie Kill Of The Week Reborn is a 2d zombie defense blaster action game where you face endless hordes of the undead with limiting conditions from being in a tiny room to a rapidly depleting ammo supply on weapons which may prove ineffective for the task at hand.

The action is very fast paced and the waves progress very quickly which is what you want in an action game for a little light relief, there are unlocks including the ability to call in AI partners to assist you in the carnage and help keep you alive one wave further along with more game modes and levels to unlock. If you fancy a blast you can also invite a friend to join you in online multiplayer to help survive the carnage together, or perhaps leave your friend to get chomped by the horde while you make your escape through the now unlockable door to get a decent weapon and make good your escape without them.

Every 10 waves or so there are boss creatures such as the yeti or the terrifying were-banker and each drop an upgrade if you are lucky enough to take them down.

Cluster truck is a first person physics puzzle game where you have to jump from truck to truck avoiding the obstacles of the level in order to reach the goal, but it is not as simple as it seems, as a plethora of trucks all on random trajectories can create a cluster truck of a situation. You have the ability to slow down time in order to make things a little more manageable and this can also have effects upon how fast the trucks reach moving obstructions in the scenery.

The game is still in early alpha and this is where you can keep up with the footage of my gameplay through the alpha and as the game progresses to completion, even at the early stage the game is very challenging and fun, and you can see some of the modifications and mutators which will be available and are planned for implementation to add a bit of spice to the game for replayability once you have completed the main challenge of simply completing the levels.

I can’t escape darkness is a first person exploration puzzle dungeon crawler, where you fall down a hole into a procedurally generated maze where your aim is to stay alive and find your way out of the darkness.

Escaping however isn’t as simple as this as not only are you surrounded by danger at every turn but you also have limited supplies, with a torch that is quickly running out of batteries and only the basics you have to explore the area to find supplies which will help keep you alive long enough to escape the dungeon. There are secrets to discover and many ways to die and fail in your attempts to escape.

The game is difficult but not unfair so it will keep you coming back for more, you could save and continue frequently to avoid the permadeath measure however this might make the game a little too easy to defeat in one run. The game is more designed for you to fail and learn why you failed and avoid dying in the same way again in order to finally find your way out of the dungeon and this is the best way to play for the most enjoyment, the save feature however is useful for if you have limited time and wish to save and continue playing the same run later without rushing in to your death when looking for all the secrets needed to escape.

The game would be ideal for virtual reality but even on an ordinary screen the mood of the darkness and the sounds which you will hear will immerse you into the horror theme of the game, and it is a very enjoyable experience.

Perpetual night is a retro style puzzle platform game where the lighting offers more than simply enhancing the pretty artwork, instead the light in the game actually effects your character as you transform between human form and demon form in order to solve the puzzles, beware also of the red light which will destroy your body and force you to begin from the last checkpoint.

The alpha demo introduces a few story aspects which will obviously be further developed as the main game progresses, with robots using ghosts to run electronics and commenting on the “trapped ghost inside the meat shell” before you fall below, and the eyes in the darkness in the wall tutorialising a little along with explaining some of the story as to how you came to be in the castle seeking your missing brother.

In this early version of the game light transforms you between human and demon form, where the human can interact with levers, pull objects and essentially interact with anything that involves thought whereas the demon form is quicker, can run faster and jump higher as well as climb mossy walls which a human could not traverse but lacks the intelligence to pull a simple lever. This is where the puzzle aspects begin as transformative lights need to be manipulated to allow you to progress through the rooms and progress through the game.

There are secrets even in this early aspect of development which are an essential feature of games such as this to stand out from a simple platformer, other essential aspects do tend to be optional paths with risk and reward, and there does seem to be a collectible feature with diamonds throughout the levels, however this is an early demo and doesn’t give away too much but shows just enough to get you interested in the main game, obviously there is a rich storyline behind the game also which will be unveiled, and choices seem to be permanent as opposed to some games where you can leave and come back and everyone has amnesia you have one chance to talk to npc’s and give a good impression much like in real life.

The mechanics feel good, no slippy platforming which would be the death of a game like this, you feel in control and able to traverse the environments perfectly fine, there are times you may fall through floors with clipping issues, but this is something with moving platforms and you have to remember this is still early in development so these wouldn’t be an issue in full release, and the main mechanics are sured up and allow you to enjoy the experience.

If you are looking for a 90′s style platformer this is exactly what you are looking for and reminds me of early 2d prince of persia games, and I would expect the full release to have further puzzle aspects and more light forms and transformations, perhaps some even being secret and hard to obtain, others perhaps being necessary to open paths in a traditional metroidvania style. (I know I don’t like using that, but for lack of a better name for games where new power’s allow you to open new area’s of the game and the fact that it is now industry wide standard for the term)

If you like what you see go greenlight the game and follow the progress.

Human fall flat is currently in alpha but is already a very playable and fun game, if you are familiar with gang beasts the character movement is very similar to that game however rather than being a multiplayer combat based experience this game focuses around the puzzles that occur in the life of a human.

Your human much like in real life can be painted and dressed in any way your imagination see’s fit, of course in the alpha he is naturally drawn to the cap bearing lifestyle, and this may remain the fact throughout the full release of course but you can still paint said cap in any fashion you see fit, and perhaps even disguise it as a flattened egon spengler do?

Humans start out in this world struggling to stand up and walk, and this may be the case in the game as your human tends to be a little unsteady on his feet, perhaps the result of heavy drinking, but this adds to the challenge of keeping your human straight without falling off the ledge as you look around, this of course is essential as orienting your human revolves around the control gained from looking around, and each arm can be moved easily using said feature to grab items and move them to solve puzzles (or perhaps even trash a certain room within the game)

In the alpha the game begins with humorous tutorialisation video’s hidden throughout the levels with remote controls and witty comments as you solve puzzles such as pushing a button to open a door, the game does get a little more complicated as the puzzles step up from box to pad to open door puzzles into complex find a way to get that part of the scenery loose to swing across this chasm in order to progress further into the game. I would presume the final release would continue the witty humour later into the game and provide more objects to interact with, it has been stated that there will definitely be at least one further area to play around in.

The levels themselves begin rather linear however there are hidden secrets even in the early levels before things really open up to allow multiple paths and solutions to the puzzles and that’s where the replayability comes in, as there is plenty around to mess about with and find hidden secrets you never knew existed as you explore further and play around with objects you didn’t think would do anything.

The game was quickly greenlit and will be coming to steam soon but if you can’t wait you can purchase the alpha directly from the developers on their website. When the game is fully released I will do an update and show what is new to the game and a proper review video.

If you enjoyed the look of the game go buy a copy for yourself and do remember there will more features and at least one extra level in the full steam release!

Go vote on the steam greenlight page this game’s great https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=556443937 human fall flat greenlight.

Duty of care is the most realistic first person shooter available on the marketplace today, and I have created the speed challenge.

The game itself is very realistic with the most life like characters, along with the usual screen blood splatters etc, well let’s just put thing’s straight it’s not a game it’s a video and the actual challenge I’ve invented is to do a fake let’s play over the video to raise awareness for war child, as they’ve created this game like video to raise awareness that real war isn’t a game, and show how families are effected by wars and by doing a fake let’s play over the video I hope to raise further awareness and encourage other youtubers to do the same.

Not only do warchild aim to help out the families effected by wars but they also lobby the governments and institutions which fund and persue wars as to help prevent them happening in the first place and hold accountable those which cause these needless battles, as war isn’t good for anything and only causes further problems.

To do your own fake let’s play you will need to email helpgame@warchild.org.uk for permission and a link to screen grab the original video for your own recordings.
You should also check out warchild and their efforts and support them at https://www.warchild.org.uk
