Rants, Raves And Reviews

Twitch have recently enabled viewers of twitch channels to unlock even more emotes, alongside the special hype train and seasonal emotes they seem to now be doing, but a viewer can also permanently unlock emotes by donating bits to their favourite streamer, and whilst this seems rather hidden and not visible on pages this can be a fun way to allow your viewers to gain access to emotes without having to dedicate themselves to a monthly subscription to your channel to retain access to emotes.

So how do they work?

Starting from 1000 bits, every bit level unlocks another emote that a viewer can use, and after having donated that many bits to your channel in their lifetime they will gain access to that emote to keep and use forever across twitch, all affiliates and partners will have access to the first 3 levels of emotes at 1k, 5k and 10k bits respectively and unlock all future levels once there is a viewer who has donated that many bits in their lifetime to your channel, so encourages further donations should they desire to unlock even further emotes.

The channel user has full customisation over these as they would any sub emote, and can create whatever emote they desire whether it be monetary related or something fun and different and maybe a little special as a reward or just taking advantage of the extra emote slots they’re something that the content creator will choose.

Once you’ve unlocked access to them, they will have the same prefix as the channel for example indela3 is my heart emote, and work in the same way as any other twitch emote and can be used across all channels after being unlocked, and you will never have to maintain a subscription to keep access as they are yours to keep forever once you have them.

So how do you set them up?

Here’s where it gets a little awkward, because they aren’t accessed from your emotes page where you might expect to find them, instead you have to head over to your bit cheer levels page and starting from the third level you can setup emotes to go alongside the levels as well as the usual badge setups, and after that it’s pretty much the same as setting up a standard emote, you simply upload the 3 sizes and choose a name for the emote and you’re sorted, obviously twitch will have to verify the emote for affiliates but in no time all users who have donated that many bits and the channel owner will have access to these emotes to use forever from this point forward.

My opinion is that they should be a little more special and something fun to use, so I might change mine from the temporary ones I’ve setup now in order to make them something more collectible and fun to use across twitch, and as viewers unlock future emotes you can involve them in the emote creation process ensure they know what’s being made get their inputs on what they’d like to be able to unlock, and carry them along for the ride, as after all they’re the ones who’d be unlocking them so ensuring that they’re something they’d like to have access to and play with across twitch is the best idea, and who knows you might even get some extra bits and donations as a result of making something that your viewers really want to play with as emotes. I do particularly think this is a great idea for smaller channels like mine because people can get permanent access to emotes without having to dedicate to a subscription so it’s a cheaper overall option for lifetime emote access, which also builds loyalty and inclusion in chat.

I of course welcome anyone to suggest any emotes they would like in my channel and I will endeavour to make them for you, and I welcome you to come visit my stream and check it out and maybe join in the fun and grab an emote for yourself over at http://www.twitch.tv/indelacio)co_ukhttp://www.twitch.tv/indelacio)co_ukhttp://www.twitch.tv/indelacio)co_uk

After having streamed for around a year now regularly over on twitch, with 3 days doing roughly one hour stream per day we got our first subscriber at https://subs.twitch.tv/Indelacio_co_uk

Considering I’ve done little to advertise the stream and definitely haven’t done the usual social media posts of going live, and haven’t really kept streams going long to encourage more viewers to stay around I think I’ve done pretty well to have gotten affiliate around 6 months ago, and now our first paid subscriber, so as a result I’ve decided to add some subscriber benefits for the channel.

Currently I keep the streams Monday Wednesday and Friday at 8pm gmt and 9pm on Wednesday, doing twitch sings, hearthstone, and variety gaming respectively. Though the more people come and subscribe and support the streams the more time I can put into it so that’s also a bonus for having extra subscribers. I have also done some off schedule specials and might also do something for new years eve this year potentially.

I would definitely like to thank my first subscriber official_hope for coming along and not only subscribing but also donating and paying me a lot of lovely compliments on my singing, and I hope to continue to stream content that is worthy of being subscribed to, and hopefully bring along a few new subscribers along the journey. Obviously we’re up to as many followers as the youtube channel now and it’s taking over as the leading follower count which may drastically change the way I do things as twitch I can earn ad revenue on, as well as subscriber funds and donations whereas youtube this isn’t possible, so it may come that I stream more and youtube may become more vods in the future especially if the channel grows (and I have heard concerning things on the youtube end like channels they deem unprofitable being subject to removal from the site, who knows what concerning metrics they may use to judge this, so twitch would also feel safer on those fronts)

Be sure to pop along and join my livestreams where you can interact with me live, and whilst subscriptions and donations are definitely not required they are highly appreciated as they do help support me and potentially add up to a state where I can stream and support myself through that and have the free time to stream full time putting up the entertaining content you’re looking for whilst also doing reviews for this site still.

I have started using my twitch channel more on the path to affiliate and doing dedicated streams over there where I can interact with my audience, and while I have been growing it by uploading the prerecorded video’s and doing reruns at present I will be moving to actual livestreams over on the channel.

Twitch decided to remove the ability to run premieres of video’s and reruns for those under affiliate level at the same time that youtube seems to be testing out premieres on it’s on site, bring both sites ever closer to being competitors with twitch now including uploaded video’s but specialising in livestreams and youtube being the opposite slowly but surely both sites are coming closer to offering the full range of services in an effective manner.

Through video premieres alone my channel has been growing, and since they announced they were removing these features I decided to do a test in one of those if you remove my toy’s I will play with them sorts of thing and ran three separate 24 hour livestreams encouraging followers and showing off the sort of content I produce over the channel with variety gaming streaming and IRL content. Each of these averaged around 5 new followers and if I had been left to be able to run long reruns on the channel I could have affiliate level followers in no time, however since this is now not the case I have to look elsewhere to grow my followship on twitch.

Whilst the suggestion that premieres would be removed seemed to suggest that video uploads would also be removed entirely that is not the case, and these seem to still premiere on the channel regardless so perhaps they turned around their idea on this matter rather than remove any ability to produce content other than livestreams, or this may be being phased out slower who is to say.

In the effort of growing my channel to a size that I can start earning money off of it and be worthy of running actual livestreams with chat open and interactivity I have decided to run a giveaway on the site, and where previous pretenders have put me off running any competitions because of their illicit activities I have found a way to run an actual legitimate competition through gleam. Gleam offer a good service that validates entries and also draws the winner at random without any suggestion of rigging or preference, and with the ability to embed it right here on the site you know it’s legitimate and not being run by a scammer pretending to be affiliated with the site and trying to steal keys from developers by pretending to be associated with the site.

I am giving away some old spare steam keys I have leftover from duplicates of games I already owned from humble bundle purchases I have made in the past, this is my first time running gleam so I’m unsure if I can simply redraw winners until I’ve exhausted all of the spare keys I have or if I have to set them exactly before hand, but there will be multiple winners and the key could be random from any of the duplicates I have. Once you have received your key there will be no replacements but you’re free to give away your key to anyone you like if you already own the game, if not I hope you enjoy your prize.

There are a variety of ways to enter the competition below, obviously the primary reason for this is for the path to affiliate on twitch to encourage new followers to the channel and streams which is why this offers the most points, and there are some other options such as subscribing on youtube and to bloglovin, as well as following the steam curator page. I can see in the gleam app if these are invalid and invalid entries will be removed so be sure to actually follow any of the channels or services where stated and remain following or subscribed by the end of the competition for your entry to remain valid. Those of you who follow my twitter will see I like and retweet any twitter entries where I get notifications in my feed, and I appreciate the new followers over there too.

There are some really good games in the mix, obviously good enough that I already owned them and you’ve got a fairly good chance of winning right now so get your entry in and follow along, obviously now the follower count is getting up there I will start arranging a schedule for streams and be sure to be live on those streams regularly the first of which I can guarantee is to be live for hearthstone tavern brawls every Wednesday at 9pm GMT perhaps with bonus content that wouldn’t be on a regular shorter youtube video and longer extended gameplay over there, and I will make a schedule for other games I will be doing over on the channel too like interactive dead cells with captain chicken and other twitch based games like choice chamber, so be sure to follow and tune in if you want to be involved in these interactive games.

Good luck and thankyou for entering

Path To Affiliate Competition

I’ve started uploading video’s over on twitch now that you’re able to produce content there without it expiring within a week, and as a result if you’d like to follow me you might see content before it comes up on video but beyond that there’s a lot of twitch specific content you’d get which would only be over there, from jogging streams talking to chat (which following would be the best way to know about when I go live) as well as rock band and guitar hero streams where I plan to play as well as sing at the same time on the harder difficulties as well as playing using the controller in a very unusual fashion which would be a site to be seen.

I do also have some interactive games which link to twich such as choice chamber which have interactive twitchchat features along with a few others which would also be a good reason to follow, and once I have 50 followers on the channel I’ll start doing actual livestreams while still maintaining video uploads, where you can see what has been prerecorded over on the events page to see what is upcoming, hearthstone tavern brawls will go live every Wednesday and I might start doing regular or arena matches once I get 50 followers also.

If you’d like to see any other incentives for reasons to follow let me know, but as twitch moves towards being more open with video’s and clips as well as livestreams I’ve become more active over there and I’ve got some idea’s for some fun twitch chat emotes once I gain access to being able to provide these for subscribers so being active over there and following means you’re more likely to see some of these in the future and I know there are some gaps in the meme chat market which I won’t disclose until I have the ability to actually create them and have them as my emotes, but stay tuned and follow and see for yourselves when these go live.

To see my upcoming content on twitch and to follow me go to https://www.twitch.tv/indelacio_co_uk/dashboard/events you can set reminders for upcoming events and click follow from my profile page.

Live streaming of gameplay is getting more popular with people preferring to interact with content creators live during the creation process, as a result I have taken up to doing some live streams, obviousely in my current situation it isn’t the easiest to record as standard let alone find time for regular streams, however I do plan on doing some streams in particular when I fancy playing a game but not actually doing any recording, these will be surprise unannounced livestreams without the mic attached. The mic won’t be attached because you’ll here crashing and banging from pests that prevent me from recording at all hours, but I will be able to possibly read chat, and if I get enough followers who actively watch then I will be more interactive and find things to do with viewers.

So head over to twitch and click the follow button below the video frame in order to be informed of any livestreams as they are broadcast, as I will not announce most on twitter or in any other form and simply broadcast wether people come or not as I play.

Streams are also available on this site at http://www.indelacio.co.uk/live-streams/ directly on this site, through twitch, with chat and the video available.

I know I don’t usually ask for subs or follows or the like, but if you want to watch the content and in particular be informed of unannounced livestreams it is the only way to do so without sitting on the site all day hopeing that I begin a random unannounced stream.
