GreenManGaming have had a loyalty scheme pending for some time and people have been wondering what the prizes would be as loyalty points were earnt and many speculations were made, however nobody expected that all prizes would be actually all AAA best seller titles for the month, and at least for it’s inaugural outing there are 5 prizes on offer with equal odds of winning and all of them are top selling titles on the site.

The games available to win in the wheel are as follows:

Monster Hunter World
Fallout 76
Assassins Creed Odyssey
Hitman 2
Just Cause 4

All of which have an even chance of winning and you can have a maximum of 3 entries at a cost of 100 greenbacks the loyalty points earnt on the site, the official word is that there should be one wheel of mystery per month at random intervals unannounced so it’s best to be part of the site and regular to know when it goes live and take part in the opportunity to get something, it’s hard to say if all future prizes will be as good but I presume that as this month all prizes on the wheel will be shown on the page along with the odds of winning each one, and the only way to gain entry is through the loyalty points on the site. There is always a chance that all of the rewards every month will be great titles, and perhaps be the top titles for each month as it goes live, but really who is to say as it could be any selection of items on the site and may even have chances of discounts as the prizes are discount codes to claim 100% off a purchase on the site and get your code.

My video shows my spins, I was a little enthusiastic and span my first one before starting recording not quite believing that you would definitely get the item, however it seems every spin is a winner, and whilst they’ve got limited supplies of codes so it’s a first come first served, as long as you’ve got the loyalty points to play you can get a good game, and the site itself usually has pretty good deals and bargains throughout the year, including at xmas where the seasonal sales not only had good discounts on selected titles but also included credit + packs that gifted out free games with the purchase of credit, and an encore 99p mystery code sale on some pretty good titles. All codes are legitimate direct from the publishers so the site is definitely to be trusted, and you might just see me in the forums, after all I’ve earnt all those points being active on the site.

I ended up winning monster hunter world, and just cause 4 (with a duplicate of that to gift, and would happily swap for assassins creed odyssey or hitman 2 if anyone ends up with a duplicate playing themselves.

If you missed the steam summer sale or didn’t get everything you wanted then the green man gaming summer sale is the place for you, it’s the opportunity to pick up those titles you might have missed out on, or find something new for a reasonable discount. Starting officially on the 19th and lasting for 2 weeks the press release states it to be “the store’s biggest ever event with thousands of games discounted, flash deals, special daily promotions, giveaways and lots more.”

The previous sale had additional bonus discounts for members of GMG once they added items to their cart, and in this manner members are able to get early access to the savings if they add something to their cart today. Other bargains usually available on the summer sale pages include mystery boxes which contain mystery keys which could be randomly for any game available on the site, and they have a variety of DRM codes available for different games.

The promise of giveaways could be in the forums, in the blog‘s or with the VIP pages which usually occur with get them before they’re all snapped up freebies judging by past experience on the site.

Flash deals will be similar to on steam, with a limited time period to take advantage of the discounts available and a variety of daily promotions across several games available every day and usually visible from the main page.

Check out the summer sale over at GreenManGaming for yourself, and you don’t know whether the discounts will be better than you expect unless you go see for yourself, there are usually some rather hefty discounts on a wide range of titles so it’s worth taking a look see if there’s something you’ve been waiting for at the right price.

I have also received a game called stifled from GMG to show off, and I will be doing a playthrough over on my lets play channel, it’s a vr capable title where you’re exploring a first person game, but your vision fades to darkness and you use sound to navigate around, but unseen creatures are hunting you and will listen in to your microphone to find where you are, it’s a very unique game and definitely something I’ll be checking out, and something I wouldn’t have heard of but for getting it from greenManGaming

Sony released a new in ear headphone on 4th December in the UK. The headset is available at a recommended retail price of £77.99 and is compatible with a range of devices, including PS4, PS Vita, smartphones and tablets – allowing players to enjoy immersive connected gaming, and entertainment on-the-go.

The headset is wired and features “audiosheild” noise reducing technology to restrict unwanted noise from the world around you, it isn’t stated if this is active noise cancelling but under the premise it appears to be the case, so you wouldn’t be wasting money on something labeling itself as noise cancelling when all it does is act like a blockage doing nothing to actively cancel out the unwanted noise (of a computer fan for example) meaning greater immersion into a game and lower volumes required for great audio quality.

The headset also has approximately 15 hours of rechargeable battery for the noise reducing feature, which can be charged via the USB cable included within the box along with In-ear Stereo Headset which includes a built-in microphone for chatting with friends on PS4 and can also be used for taking calls on smartphones and tablets. In addition, the headset includes an In-line call button and +/- volume buttons for easy control of your audio.

@Upstream_Arcade a new gaming company established by Adam Langridge and Imkan Hayati, who previousely worked on the marvellous miss take, and before that lionhead studio’s games such as fable 2, black and white 2 and max payne 3.

They sent a nice email asking if people would follow their new company as it has been a lifelong dream for them to go independant and obviously starting out on a new venture can be a little scary, so getting support and people following helps along with the nerves.

Their first project is funded, and is said to be a stylish, kick ass action game, and they have promised more details as development picks up, along with a review copy so I can provide a glimpse into the game when it is ready.

Their official statement is “They have decided to use this power for good – making bombastic action games that will make players look and feel so good, they will want to share the show with their friends by uploading and streaming their gameplay.”

So if you’re in the gaming industry in some way or just like to follow games you should check them out upstreamarcade.com

In spring playstation will be launching a private beta test of the upcoming psnow service, where users can play ps3 games noted as big hits (“blockbuster and critically aclaimed games”) using a streaming cloud service, different to existing cloud based gaming platforms such as steam the playstation now service notes that users would never need to install, download or update the games and that they could be played immediately without delays of any sort.

There is a minimum requirement of a 5mbps download speed in order to be able to use the service effectively, but this is understandable considering the nature of streaming the games directly, anything smaller would cause problems.

Initially the service will choose candidates from the pool of ps4 owners subscribed to the playstation plus service, but it will branch out further at later stages of the beta to include playstation 3 owners and possibly even those not on playstation plus.

Anyone wishing to express an interest in participating should register at www.playstation.com/psnow where the initial testers will be selected

When the service launches proper it will be a rental service where a small fee will be charged per rental, however during the beta it is noted that this service will be free of charge. There is no note on the actual price of the titles, however I am sure it will be only a couple of quid much like renting a game from a shop would cost, without the delay of going to the store and searching, installing, updating, having to return it on time and all of the other associated hassles.

Examples of titles come from SCE’s worldwide range of titles and noted examples are Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, The Last of Us and God of War Ascension, Rayman Legends (Ubisoft), Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (Ubisoft), Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package (Koch Media), Just Cause 2 (Square Enix), The Walking Dead (Telltale) and Dirt 3 (Codemasters), although there is a Notes to Editors that games included in the private beta won’t necessarily represent what’s offered in the full PS Now service however, and may change during the beta trial so this is worth bearing in mind, however gives an impression of what can be expected, and titles noted should become available.

So why not sign up if you’re able and check it out for yourself.
