After having streamed for around a year now regularly over on twitch, with 3 days doing roughly one hour stream per day we got our first subscriber at https://subs.twitch.tv/Indelacio_co_uk

Considering I’ve done little to advertise the stream and definitely haven’t done the usual social media posts of going live, and haven’t really kept streams going long to encourage more viewers to stay around I think I’ve done pretty well to have gotten affiliate around 6 months ago, and now our first paid subscriber, so as a result I’ve decided to add some subscriber benefits for the channel.

Currently I keep the streams Monday Wednesday and Friday at 8pm gmt and 9pm on Wednesday, doing twitch sings, hearthstone, and variety gaming respectively. Though the more people come and subscribe and support the streams the more time I can put into it so that’s also a bonus for having extra subscribers. I have also done some off schedule specials and might also do something for new years eve this year potentially.

I would definitely like to thank my first subscriber official_hope for coming along and not only subscribing but also donating and paying me a lot of lovely compliments on my singing, and I hope to continue to stream content that is worthy of being subscribed to, and hopefully bring along a few new subscribers along the journey. Obviously we’re up to as many followers as the youtube channel now and it’s taking over as the leading follower count which may drastically change the way I do things as twitch I can earn ad revenue on, as well as subscriber funds and donations whereas youtube this isn’t possible, so it may come that I stream more and youtube may become more vods in the future especially if the channel grows (and I have heard concerning things on the youtube end like channels they deem unprofitable being subject to removal from the site, who knows what concerning metrics they may use to judge this, so twitch would also feel safer on those fronts)

Be sure to pop along and join my livestreams where you can interact with me live, and whilst subscriptions and donations are definitely not required they are highly appreciated as they do help support me and potentially add up to a state where I can stream and support myself through that and have the free time to stream full time putting up the entertaining content you’re looking for whilst also doing reviews for this site still.

YouTube recently changed it’s requirements for partnership so that you needed at least 1000 subs and 4000 hours viewed within the last 12 months to monetise your youtube channel, now there has been some backlash at this from smaller channels however in the past there have been a number of smaller channels that have had their adsense completely blocked for supposed “click fraud” with youtube only allowing a single appeal where they would state as a reply unless you know what the cause of the click fraud is they won’t restore your account, which is terrible for false positives because unless you’re causing the click fraud how would you ever know what the cause was?

This is why having a minimum viewership is going to be good for you, because while you might make some money that helps keep your channel growing or help to grow it during it’s smaller time you’re likely to have a small selection of the same people viewing your video’s and clicking your ads when you’ve got a smaller subscriber base, and youtube will detect this as click fraud thinking only you or people you know would be clicking if there’s a small field of IP addresses generating the revenue, so by having a much broader field it eliminates false positives as you’d have a significant enough viewer base at that point that the IP range would be varied and false positives are far less likely to occur, obviously if youtube had a better appeals process and understood that you would not have control over who watches your video’s and who clicks on them when you’re smaller it would have also worked but that would create more work for youtube and clearly they’re against that.

Of course this can be offputting to using adsense anywhere else as if you’ve previously used it on your website and you know a lot of robots (especially google’s own spider for it’s search engine) traverse your site at three times the rate of actual visitors because they crawl it non stop and ignore don’t return for X time protocols completely. Whether these bots crawling the site trigger adsense to believe bad traffic is another consideration (not knowing whether it was over zealous subscribers, this or by being related to my scumbag sister) so I’m offput from even using adsense anywhere outside of youtube so that when I build up high enough I can actually monetise it and if they trigger a false click fraud claim again when not performing this then youtube itself has serious problems.

One final reason hidden in the depths of the explaination for what determined “click fraud” at the time they closed monetisation on my channel was that if they suspected you to be related to anyone who had been deemed bad for adsense (so having a similar name or just being related to them) would also result in a click fraud closure for your adsense wether you’ve performed clickfraud or not, just being related to or suspected to be related to someone who did would get your account closed, and I would suspect my sister very likely to be a click fraud person because she is a scumbag, she’s performed illegal things in the past, she still does illegal things and she even tried to forge my signature to steal our dads inheritance when he died, of course she still succeeded in stealing it but should really be arrested for criminal fraud in that instance, forging my signature is fraud and I deleted her from my life that day not that we communicated much previously but I had her on facebook as a relative, I gave her birthday and xmas presents but that was about it but after that disgusting behaviour she’s not a relative.

So you’re one of the people who had your adsense closed for click fraud in the 2011-2012 timeframe when google were taking down a lot of adsense accounts including from some medium size channels, well with this new system in place it might be worth putting in a new appeal, I know I had been trying to appeal again when this system came into place and might have resulted from my appeal showing that the only monetisation I had in my account was from America and couldn’t possibly be anything to do with me, and probably was from over zealous subscribers as I had a growing channel in a time when comments sections were encouraging each other to click every advert to support youtubers (and kony 2012) so it was a weird time. However if you’ve had a channel in good standing since then and you’ve never known what the click fraud was it might be worth sending in a new appeal, and then going into your account clicking to change your adsense ID but if you associate it with your channel regardless of if it was the same adsense ID it will restore it back to a state that states pending review until you get enough viewers and subscribers rather than demonetised which gives you a hopeful system for the future, and also backdooring into your adsense account through that link you’re able to see that you’re in a restored adsense account and you could use it in your regular websites if you choose to take that risk, or save it entirely for youtube as I’m choosing to do so.

While you might think this is an unreachable target especially as youtube makes everything on it’s platform more geared towards celebrities rather than smaller content producers I do believe this is more protective for you and you’re more likely to succeed without losing your adsense and hope to monetise your channel as you grow with the new rules, and it’s a target to strive for that perhaps once reached might give enough income to at the very least reduce the number of hours you have to work elsewhere in order to fund your life and gear towards moving into youtube fulltime.
